Just got a note from Michael Nailor, the corn and soybean trait marketing lead for Monsanto, in response to the July 25th blog about the new SmartStax corn hybrids and the reduced refuge requirement. He says Pioneer Hi-Bred does not have access to the Genuity SmartStax technology and won't be able to sell hybrids with the reduced five per cent refuge.
In addition to DEKALB, companies like Maizex, Pride, Country Farm, Pickseed and Elite (out of Quebec) all have access to the technology for 2010.
